Bradley International Airport is a joint civil-military airport located just south of the Massachusetts border in Connecticut. It is the second busiest airport in New England. KBDL accommodates several major carriers, such as JetBlue, Southwest, Delta, American, Aer Lingus, UPS, FedEx, and more. The airport is also home to the 103rd Airlift Wing of the Connecticut Air National Guard, who operate the C-130 Hercules, and several Aviation Regiments of the Connecticut Army National Guard, who operate the UH-60 Blackhawk and CH-47 Chinook.
There is a wide range of aircraft that visit KBDL, including Boeing 717s, 737s, 757s, and 767s, Airbus 220s, 300s, 320s, and 321s, as well as Embraer and CRJ aircraft. Military traffic can include the local C-130s and UH-60s / CH-47s, as well as visits from KC-135s, P-8s, and more. The area is also home to the New England Air Museum, which is rich in Connecticut and New England aviation history. In 2024, they acquired a recently retired F-15C from the 104th Fighter Wing, 85-0101.
